Beautiful day today we spend onboard and the ship goes into Tracy Arm Fjord to explore the giant glacier that is falling off into the see. Slowly we enter a channel and turn and turn and turn thru beautiful coastal scenery. We hope for some glimpse of the Glacier at each turn, but none appears, though many large fierce waterfalls do.

Finally we round another point and begin the see the mountain and glacier.
We see the blue ice, characteristic of glaciers, and are mesmerized by the sight of the thousands year old ice melting away. It seems that a poignant pause is heard over the ship as we all realize what is happening.

Getting closer and closer we see littler boats going closer to it and be dwarfed by the giant!

The Glacier is “calving”, dropping off huge house size chunks of ice into the water with a splash.

We do run into a herd of seals languishing on the ice in the 85 degree record sunshine! This is the day where we hear that the Northwest is having 105 degree record temperatures!!

Before a magical sunset we head to the dining room for a wonderful meal with fantastic desserts and nice company. The waiters put on a dance show for us and then we all do the Macarena together. Our waiter is the magician and balances forks on toothpicks on a cork in a cork in the wine bottle. And Gerrit does it too to the amazement of fans!!
