Grand Canyon North Rim

Had lunch in the Great and “Grand Lodge”. Which is truly a great a grand construction right on the rim of the Canyon built in the grand old fashion of luxury to welcome everyone to the Canyon views!
Amazing views out the windows of the lodge sitting room, restaurant and from outdoor “sun porch”. So windy, cold, mostly cloudy wanted to stay inside – 8800 ft. Went to yet another geology talk where we learn more about how the Canyon was formed and what they still don’t know like why the river seems to run upstream!

Took care of web business and then to scenic view road for sunset, highly recommended. Amazing points where you look right out on the Canyon and up close and center cause the Colorado river is not so close so you are in the middle of the buttes and it see it all.
Especially liked Angel’s Window with a large hole in the huge rock wall the ascends a mile from the floor. At sunset seeing the purple haze of the mountains behind thru this window - stunning.
